3 Days at the MTC

We were at the MTC in Provo for three days taking a class so that we could get our English teaching certificate.  While in Mongolia we will be teaching English as well as working in the employment office.  We were instructed by Bro. Neil Anderson and Pres. Norm Evans of the BYU linguistics department.  They were great teachers. We also got to observe some English classes at the MTC, then we got to teach a couple of lessons.  We also got to meet our tutor, Sis. Jenkins.  We had the great pleasure of attending the devotional on Tuesday evening.  The speaker was Elder Richard G. Scott.  The Spirit was so strong that we couldn't help but be moved by it, not only in the devotional but everywhere we went at the MTC.  We are looking forward to returning for our regular scheduled time there in six weeks.

Oct. 10, 2010

We are trying to learn some of the Mongolian language.  We have a great tutor, Sis. Jenkins, but we are struggling.  They were not kidding when they said that it is hard to teach old dogs new tricks.  But we will keep trying and with the Lord's help, we will learn enough to say hello and introduce ourselves!
